Our Participants

Arts for Life Project aims to make impactful change to the everyday lives of vulnerable young people, who find life challenging, have a love of the arts and are able to interact in a group setting. Our projects are best-suited for children from year 3 (age 8) up to young people aged 25.

We provide specialised integrated arts and mental health-based programmes to support both these young people and their families.

Our children and young people  display :

  • Autistic Spectrum characteristics
  • Attention and Hyperactivity characteristics
  • Emotional Wellness challenges
  • Learning struggles
  • Social, communication struggles

Participants are invited into the programme through an initial referral form process and a meet and greet appointment. We accept referrals for individual clinical support or for open review at initial appointment. Referrals can be made by parents and carers and any children/young people professionals by email, phone and via the referral form.

Our Projects

Arts for Life Project has created a range of programmes designed to engage young people and their families in creative activities which are always achievable, calm and encourage hidden skills. We also have projects designed to support the schools and colleges as well as the community in which our young people live.

For Young People

Our holistic, person-centred approach provides opportunities for young people to grow and develop without external expectation or pressure in an open and nurturing environment creating happier, healthier individuals; both mentally and physically.

For Families

Our young people’s support network is key to their success, we support their families with arts led portals which create opportunities for clarification, understanding, partnership building and signposting for the benefit of the young person and their family.

For Schools and Colleges

We offer a range of programmes to create opportunities with our local schools and colleges to develop a holistic approach to the mental health of the young people and families in our community.

For the Community

We know that our young people’s entire support network is key to their success so we support their community with arts led portals for advice, respite, learning and reflection for the whole community.

Our Partnerships

Arts for Life Project prides itself in sharing knowledge and its services for the benefit of the community. By creating opportunities for partnership with other agencies and support services, we are able to develop a holistic approach to youth and family mental health in our community of North West London and surrounding counties.

We welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with organisations such as schools, medical providers, homeless shelters, council support services to better support young people and families within the community. If you have a partnership opportunity you would like to discuss email us: enquiries@artsforlifeproject.org.

Our Impact

Arts For Life Project supports over 100 young people and their families a week.

Art for Life Project’s impact on these people and their community is seen in an increase in:

  • Engagement with their immediate and extended community through increased motivation, self-worth and emotional resilience;
  • Recognition of mental health triggers before crisis point is reached;
  • Adaptations to behaviour for improved mental health for both the young person and their family.

and a reduction in:

  • Disengagement from family, education and the community;
  • Isolation from immediate and extended community;
  • Number of children and young people reaching crisis point.
